Hobby Supernova

October 31, 2011

Happy Halloween folks (my birthday too, so it's always a special day to me!).

I'm not even sure what the point of this post is other than to lament a phase I seem to be going through - I'm buying up "new games" like crazy. I think basically two things are causing this: 1) I rarely have time to play anymore, and miss it - regardless of the game, and 2) I think I buy and paint hobby stuff the way some overweight people eat - for comfort. When life gets busy and stressful I tend to buy a lot of games and figures.

So right now, I'm dabbling in (meaning, buying and painting but haven't played) - Infinity, Malifaux, Dystopian Wars, eyeing Puppet Wars, Dreadfleet....ugh, the list goes on. Top it off I had some stuff to exchange with GW and ended up with a large preorder of Necrons. Anyone else go through periods like this? It's sorta...gross :\  Too much buying, not enough painting. And not nearly enough (meaning: basically zero) gaming. Adulthood has advantages and disadvantages. I have money for all the games, but not the time. Anyway, it's sorta fun regardless ;)
